HAYS SINGAPORE NAMED BEST SMALL WORKPLACE IN SINGAPORE BY GREAT PLACE TO WORK®

Hays Singapore was ranked number one in the ‘small workplace’ category of the 5th annual Singapore Best Workplaces™ study, held by Great Place to Work®, a global authority on workplace culture. The study honours the very best organisations in Singapore that are effective in building high-performing cultures where employees trust their leaders, are proud of what they do, and enjoy the people they work with.

The announcement marks a significant step up for the specialist recruitment firm, who were placed third in the study last year. Every organisation that makes it onto this list is curated and ranked within its respective category by Great Place to Work® based on confidential input from employees in its Singapore office. Two-thirds of every organisation’s score is based on the outcomes of the Trust Index© Survey taken by employees, while one-third is informed by Great Place to Work®’s independent audit of the organisation’s philosophy on leadership and its people practices. All selected organisations for this study have a clear majority of their employees considering them to be great workplaces.

Speaking on Hays Singapore topping this prestigious list, Joni Ong, Managing Director of Great Place to Work® Singapore, commented, “Hays' culture is transparent, meritocratic and open, one that reflects their values of being passionate about people, ambitious, expert, insightful, innovative and always doing the right thing. There is a strong sense of family among staff who are inspired to achieve and stretch, knowing that their leaders have their back. Collaboration and trust are prevalent; remuneration is fair and transparent; feedback is solicited, heard and acted upon; development is holistic with equal emphasis on personal and professional upskilling; authenticity and diversity are encouraged and embraced. Just some reasons why Hays staff consider their workplace 'super awesome' and why we at Great Place concur that Hays is indeed one of the Best Workplaces in 2019!”

Speaking on these results, Grant Torrens, Regional Director for Hays Singapore commented, “We are extremely delighted to have won the Great Place to Work® award for being the best small workplace in Singapore. At Hays, we pride ourselves in being a diverse and inclusive employer, and we aim to further support our employees through newer initiatives like Parents@Hays, which is designed to support and offer guidance to employees who are parents or prospective parents. We will also continue established engagement practices such as Your Voice, our annual employee engagement survey that keeps us in tune with the needs and opinions of our staff.

‘We have grown as a business over the last year and have a fantastic team of highly motivated and driven employees who help form our ‘awesome’ culture and make Hays a great place to work. Our motto for this year is ’Exceed Your Expectations’ and with this award, we may have already achieved this!”
