An established global organisation within the energy and commodities sector is seeking an experienced professional to support regional trading and supply chain activities. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth execution of transactions, coordinating logistics, and managing operational risks across the region.
Your new role
Key Responsibilities:
Trade & Operations Execution
- Manage end-to-end operational execution of feedstock transactions across the Asia region
- Coordinate cargo movements including scheduling, nominations, and delivery fulfilment
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of trade capture, contract validation, and system updates
- Monitor supply chain activities to ensure adherence to contractual obligations
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (trading, scheduling, finance) and external parties (suppliers, terminals, inspectors, shipping agents)
- Oversee vessel and inventory scheduling, ensuring optimal utilisation and efficiency
- Manage documentation flow including bills of lading, certificates of quality/quantity, and customs requirements
- Support inventory management across storage facilities and terminals
Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify and mitigate operational risks including delays, demurrage exposure, and supply disruptions
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
- Handle operational issues, claims, and dispute resolution in coordination with legal and commercial teams
Commercial Support
- Work closely with traders to provide operational insights and support deal structuring
- Analyse operational performance and highlight optimisation opportunities
- Assist in P&L reconciliation, cost tracking, and variance analysis (e.g., freight, demurrage, losses)
What you'll need to succeed
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in operations within commodities trading, oil & gas, or petrochemicals
- Strong knowledge of feedstock products (e.g. naphtha, LPG, condensates, petrochemical feedstocks) and regional trade flows
- Experience handling marine logistics, vessel operations, and terminal coordination
- Familiarity with trade lifecycle processes, including contracts, documentation, and settlements
Technical Competencies
- Understanding of incoterms, shipping terms, and commodity trading operations
- Experience using trading/ERP systems and operational tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Soft Skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational capability
