Your new role
Here is a summary of the role you are applying for;
The Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) is responsible for ensuring product quality and reliability by supporting the implementation of quality systems, monitoring production and inspection processes, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and customer requirements. The QAE collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to investigate quality issues, support root cause analyses, and drive continuous improvement activities to maintain high-quality manufacturing standards within the organisation.
Below are some of the key responsibilities for the role;
Inspection and Quality Control:- Oversee and support the daily inspection and testing activities to ensure parts and assemblies meet defined specifications and standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of inspection standards and procedures.
Non-Conformance Management: - Monitor and record quality issues on the production floor, initiate non-conformance reports (NCRs), and follow through on resolution activities.
- Assist in the coordination and closure of quality issues, ensuring appropriate containment and corrective actions are taken.
Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions: - Participate in root cause analysis for in-process, in-house, and customer-returned quality issues.
- Support the implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), ensuring effectiveness and recurrence prevention.
Quality Audits and System Support: - Support internal audits and follow-up actions to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Assist in documentation review and control to support audit readiness and maintain quality system integrity.
Reporting and Documentation: - Ensure ongoing alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other applicable industry standards, preparing documentation and support for internal and external certification audits.
- Serve as the main point of contact during third-party audits, coordinating responses to findings and facilitating the closure of audit non-conformances.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives: - Contribute to quality improvement projects by providing insights from quality data and shopfloor observations.
- Participate in initiatives that aim to enhance product quality, reduce waste and improve process efficiency.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate, should have;
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in a quality assurance or inspection role within a manufacturing environment
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or similar certification is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in quality auditing, quality assurance, or similar roles within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS), including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards.
