Your new company
Our client is a well-established and steadily growing commodity trading firm with an expanding regional footprint. Operating in a fast‑moving, commercially driven environment, the business is known for its strong market positioning, disciplined execution, and entrepreneurial culture. As trading activity and volumes continue to grow, the firm is strengthening its market intelligence and shipping capabilities through a newly created role.
Your new role
As a Market Intelligence & Commercial Support Analyst, your role is responsible for supporting end-to-end commercial operations, integrating sales execution with logistics coordination while delivering actionable market intelligence.
On the market intelligence side, you will actively track commodity markets, analysing supply and demand fundamentals, price movements, trade flows, freight markets, and competitor activity. You will produce regular market updates, dashboards, and ad‑hoc analysis to directly support commercial decision-making.
From an execution and logistics perspective, you will work closely with traders and operations teams to support the shipment lifecycle, including coordinating with shipbrokers, freight forwarders, inspectors, surveyors, terminals, and other external counterparties. You will help ensure trades are executed efficiently, risks are managed, and timelines are met.
This role offers hands-on exposure to both the commercial and operational sides of a commodity trading business.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, prior commodity experience is essential. You should bring:
- Proven experience (3–5 years) within a commodity trading house, producer, trader, shipowner, operator, or related commodity focused business
- A solid understanding of commodity markets, trade structures, and shipping/logistics mechanics
- Experience supporting traders, commercial teams, or trade execution in a commodities environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and produce actionable insights
- Strong communication skills for interaction with internal stakeholders and external counterparties
- A degree in business, economics, supply chain, maritime studies, or a related discipline
- Strong Excel skills; experience with reporting tools or market data platforms is an advantage
Candidates without direct commodity market exposure will not be suitable for this role.
