Your new company
This hybrid fund accounting/accounting role sits within the Finance function of a global, data-driven investment manager specialising in quantitative and systematic strategies. The organisation applies a research-led, technology-enabled approach to investing, combining data, analytics, and trading expertise to deliver strong performance outcomes.
Your new role
You will cover both corporate accounting and fund accounting responsibilities across management company entities and investor fund structures – though specialising in fund accounting responsibilities for India-focused entities. As well as your day-to-day fund accounting remit, you will work across tax reporting and regulatory compliance – and work closely with Finance, Operations, and international teams.
The role sits between the internal corporate entities and investor fund entities, requiring exposure to both operational corporate accounting and fund-related activities. A strong understanding of the Indian regulatory framework, tax rules, and compliance requirements is essential. Experience within the hedge fund industry in India is a big bonus, though you will be based in Singapore.
The broader team structure includes:
- A London-based Fund Accounting team of 7 Fund Accountants, including the Manager
- 4 accountants within the Singapore Control team, with this role being the dedicated regional Fund Accountant
- 2 additional Fund Accountants based in Hong Kong supporting regional fund structures and oversight
Responsibilities include:
- Manage fund accounting activities for India-specific entities, including trading-related entities
- Review financial statements and management accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and review tax filings, including indirect and corporate tax submissions
- Oversee regulatory reporting and ensure adherence to local compliance requirements
- Process payments and liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers
- Maintain accurate financial records across multiple legal entities
- Support audits, statutory reporting, and financial statement preparation
- Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to resolve issues and enhance processes
- Contribute to improving controls, reporting quality, and operational efficiency
- Opportunity to expand scope to additional entities over time
What you'll need to succeed
- 3+ years of relevant experience in fund accounting
- Progressing toward or holding a recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Strong academic background in a quantitative or finance-related discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Economics, STEM)
- Experience working with entities in India and APAC, including local tax requirements (regulatory and tax aspects of the role are expected to be complex due to the cross-border nature of the structures and reporting obligations. Candidates should have experience managing entity structures, fund accounting oversight, regulatory reporting, and tax-related considerations across multiple jurisdictions)
- Background in investment management or fund administration is advantageous
- Solid understanding of fund structures and accounting principles
- Ability to work independently in a lean team environment
- High level of attention to detail and strong analytical capability
- Proficiency in Excel and financial data analysis
What you'll get in return
A world leading investment fund at the cutting edge of quantitative investments and technology innovation. Tenure is exceptionally high. Employees join a family and work with some of the sharpest minds in the world. In return, you are pushed, challenged, developed, and rewarded handsomely.
