We are partnering with an international US manufacturing firm that is looking for a Deputy General Counsel for the Asia region to join their Singapore office.

Your new role

Reporting to the GC in the US, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior management and regional leadership. You will manage a broad range of complex legal matters, guide business-critical decision-making, and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Acting as both a strategist and a problem-solver, you will help safeguard the company’s reputation while enabling innovation and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Provide proactive legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory issues across Asia.
Partner with business leaders to drive strategic initiatives while mitigating legal and compliance risks
Oversee and manage litigation, investigations, and disputes across the region.
Lead negotiations on high-value contracts, joint ventures, and cross-border transactions.
Monitor evolving laws and regulations, advising on implications for business operations.
Support and mentor legal team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Act as a key deputy and thought partner to the General Counsel, Asia-Pacific.

What you'll need to succeed

You would be required to be a highly qualified lawyer with over 10 years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained in both top-tier law firms and multinational in-house environments. You should have experience setting up legal functions and a strong background in corporate, commercial, and regulatory law across Asia. M&A experience will be an added advantage.
