A commodities/dry bulk firm is looking for an Assistant Manager, Accounting, to join their Singapore office.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the Finance Controller, you will primarily be handling the below

- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Accounting and Ledger Management: Manage the general ledger, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Audit and Compliance: Liaise with external auditors, ensure compliance with audit requirements, and implement audit recommendations.
- Financial Systems: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, ensuring efficient and effective financial operations.

What you'll need to succeed

You are ideally a qualified accountant / bachelor's degree in accounting with experience in the shipping, commodities or dry bulk industry. You have a proven track record with strong accounting and finance management skill sets. You are someone who possesses an analytical and problem-solving mind-set. SAP system experience will be ideal. Process improvement initiatives and track record will be a plus.
