Regional Affairs Manager (ASEAN) - Public Sector

A public services organisation is looking for a Regional Affairs Manager in Singapore.

Your new role

As the Regional Affairs Manager (ASEAN), you will play a strategic role in strengthening the organisation’s presence and influence across Southeast Asia and selected international markets. This position is responsible for leading regional engagement efforts, building high-level partnerships, and supporting the adoption and alignment of safety and technical standards within diverse regulatory environments.


You will act as a regional representative and trusted advisor, engaging with government agencies, national and international standards bodies, industry leaders, and other key stakeholders. Working closely with senior leadership, you will contribute to policy discussions, represent the organisation at major forums, and support regional priorities aligned with the global standards strategy.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing regional partnership and engagement strategies

  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with government bodies, regulators, standards organisations, and industry associations

  • Representing the organisation at regional and international conferences, forums, and standards platforms

  • Supporting participation and leadership in international and regional standards initiatives

  • Managing regional standards-related projects from planning through execution

  • Conducting policy, regulatory, and market research to support advocacy efforts

  • Advising internal stakeholders on regional regulatory dynamics and standards developments

What you'll need to succeed

  • A Bachelor’s degree (postgraduate qualifications in business, public policy, or international affairs preferred)

  • A minimum of 9 years’ experience in standards development, government relations, public policy, regulatory affairs, or advocacy

  • Strong understanding of national and international regulatory frameworks and standards development processes

  • Proven experience engaging senior external stakeholders across government, industry, and international bodies

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills

  • Solid project management capability, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently

  • A strategic, adaptable mindset suited to complex and multicultural environments

  • Fluency in English; additional ASEAN language capabilities are a strong advantage
