My client, an Asian wholesale bank, is currently looking for a Deputy General Manager to co-lead/manage their Singapore corporate banking office.
Your new role
Your new role will assist the General Manager in formulating the branchās development strategy, business objectives, and operational plans based on the overall strategy of the head office and in accordance with the division of responsibilities. You will be responsible for the overall management, business development, innovation, and structural optimisation of the Corporate Banking or Financial Markets Department. You will need to formulate work plans for Corporate Banking or Financial Markets Department, and organise the breakdown, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of the performance goals for the departments under supervision. Take charge of developing, establishing, and maintaining key client relationships; strengthen communication and cooperation with corporate groups, business institutions, and financial peers; and coordinate departments to accomplish the branchās assigned goals. Be responsible for internal control and risk prevention in the supervised departments; fulfil the duties of the āfirst line of defenceā; strengthen supervision and inspection of business processes and operational standards to ensure legal and compliant practices. Oversee the talent development of supervised departments, identifying and cultivating high-potential talent. Establish sound communication and cooperative relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other institutions.
What you'll need to succeed
Full-time Bachelor's degree or above, with a major in Finance, Economics, Management, Accounting, Law, or other related fields
At least 20 years of experience in the banking industry, including over 10 years of management experience (looking after a minimum of 100 direct/indirect headcount) in corporate banking, investment banking, or financial markets
Familiar with local banking products, business policies, and processes; possesses extensive experience with large corporate clients and project management
Strong business development and industry expansion capabilities; rich client resources and industry experience; well-versed in corporate banking, investment banking, and financial markets
Proficient in credit management, financial analysis, industry research, and cross-border business
Familiar with regulatory policies and market trends, with solid risk identification and control capabilities
Outstanding leadership and organisational coordination skills, with strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Good public relations skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with government and regulatory bodies
Capable of driving business transformation and collaboration, and handling complex projects or crisis situations.
Ability to communicate in both English and Mandarin to liaise with North-Asian stakeholders
