Your new role
Here is a summary of the role you are applying for;
The Operational Excellence Manager will have a dotted-line reporting relationship with the Production Director and will lead continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives within their manufacturing operations. This role will focus on enhancing operational efficiency and quality by implementing Lean Manufacturing principles, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and leveraging Industry 4.0 technologies.
Below are some of the key responsibilities for the role;
- Schedule Management – Responsible for specifying production schedules and monitoring progress, as well as optimizing resource allocation in conjunction with section managers.
- Building Cooperation – Organizes inter-departmental coordination to strengthen collaboration with sales, engineering and materials departments.
- Raising the level of the production – Training to improve management skills at managerial level.
- Conduct in-depth workflow analysis to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Lead the development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing strategies to optimize operational efficiency across production processes.
- Utilize Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify process inefficiencies, reduce waste, and streamline production flows.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce lead times, and maintain high-quality standards across all production areas.
- Oversee the implementation of automation solutions in the assembly process to increase productivity and reduce human error.
- Lead Industry 4.0 initiatives, including the integration of digital technologies such as IoT, data analytics, and AI, to modernize and optimize manufacturing operations.
What you'll need to succeedThe successful candidate, should have;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an operational excellence or continuous improvement role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of implementing Lean methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with VSM, process flow analysis, and root cause problem-solving.
- Familiarity with digital tools and technologies used in manufacturing, such as MES, ERP, and data analytics platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Experience in leading teams, conducting training, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with machine tool manufacturing processes and technologies is an advantage.
- Develop and conduct training programs on Lean principles, automation technologies, and Industry 4.0 best practices to all staff.
