Are you a seasoned procurement professional with a passion for shaping strategic sourcing initiatives? Become a vital member of the Procurement team, where you will spearhead the acquisition of critical IT categories, ensuring cost-effectiveness to meet the evolving needs of our operations. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the seamless flow of global trade through our world-class facilities. Located in the West with a hybrid working arrangement, my client is seeking an Assistant Procurement Manager to join their team.

Your new role

  • Strategic Development: Collaborating closely with user departments to formulate comprehensive tendering strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Tender Management: Translating strategies into clear and detailed tender documents, including precise specifications that address specific business requirements.

  • Contract Drafting: Crafting robust contract documents that clearly define contractor responsibilities and liabilities, safeguarding the organisation's interests at every stage.

  • Tender Analysis & Negotiation: Conducting thorough analyses of tender submissions and skilfully negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value proposition for the organisation.

  • Post-Contract Management: Partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure suppliers adhere to contractual obligations, proactively identifying and managing potential risks throughout the contract lifecycle.

  • Sustainable Procurement: Actively contributing to the development and implementation of sustainable procurement frameworks in collaboration with our suppliers, aligning with our corporate sustainability goals.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A relevant degree coupled with a minimum of 4 years of demonstrable experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, ideally within an IT services context.
  • A comprehensive understanding of strategic sourcing principles, the end-to-end tendering process, best-practice contract management, effective negotiation techniques, and robust contract governance.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, coupled with proven expertise in contract negotiations.
